The 28th of September saw the end of the first qualifying stage of the III international competition for the realization of a puppet, animated object or theatrical form "Animatus" which saw a total of 23 submissions. Artists from Poland and abroad have fought for the chance of artistic residency in the Theatre of Actor and Puppet "Kubuś" in Kielce as well as a financial reward of 1000 euro. Such interest shows that the idea of a project searching for new and original forms of the puppeteer arts, using ever changing technologies is needed.
The jury consisting of: Katarzyna Proniewska- Mazurek, Marek Waszkiel and Jakub Wróblewski have selected six submissions as having qualified for the next round. The selected authors are listed below:
1. Paulina Araszkiewicz
2. Patrizia Ende
3. Filip Jaśkiewicz
4. Andrzej Kuba Sielski
5. Łukasz Skwara
6. Małgorzata Tarasewicz Wosik
The candidates will meet with the jury online on the 13th and 14th of November to discuss their ideas. Of these 6 the jury will select 3 laureates who will have the chance to realize their project and show it during the projects finale in December 2020 in the form of a theatrical etude.
We would like to thank all those who have submitted their projects as well as congratulate those who have qualified for the next stage of the competition.
